Dear Folks, who may have stumbled upon, or wanted to arrive here.
I have almost got this sucker working.
Perhaps in a mere week or so, I will learn how to put something competent
or relevant on this bloggo. Many things occur; this is the nature of Nature.
None of these tools work normally, yet I am trying to learn their language.
(like the "tab" throws things out -- such.}
Just to update:
Longmont just constituted an "Election Committee" which some of us think is a Commission.
Our function is to oversee the entire local election process. The Election Code was recently updated by 1/2 year of assiduous work by the Election Task Force, regarding which I attended but was not a member. The Longmont City Council enacted the revised Ordinance,
which it will be our job to enforce, & perhaps offer further revisions as necessary.
I have changed my e-mail to Striderb@comcast.net .
I have had many & sometines severe problems with earthlink,
and hope to clear out without too much loss.
As I learn to navigtate this website, I intend to offer, history, poetry, philosophy,
and a quite broad range of social, economic, & political insights regarding the events of the day.
I have recently joined the Congregational United Church of Christ here in Longmont,
yet retain my active membership in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder.
I may, once I figger out how, include some of my recent speeches before
the Longmont City Council, which I have addressed perhaps about 100 times
in the past 4 or 5 years. Some folks have found these talks humourous, insightful, shocking,
informative, or otherwise "interesting." I would warmly receive any comments.
I expect that for these first few weeks my postings may be quite random, cursory,
"from-the-hip," rather snapshot style, & experimental, as I try to regather my composure,
my voice, my integrated approach to all social questions, and my writing style.
I am also quite active with Longmont Community Gardens, Transition Longmont,
Longmont Citizens for Justice & Democracy, Rocky Mountain Peace & Justice Center,
UUCB Mens Group, Seniors On Bikes, etc. etc., etc. I did get my bike, "Tara" fixed up
and thus have biked 12,000 Km in the past year & a half.
I haven't found any viable or regular work for a long time,
but do pick up a day or so when I can.
My recent degrees in Political Science, & Master of Humanities in Philosophy & History
all with honors, have never availed me of paying employment. I may comment from time
to time regarding the extreme use of a wide range of tools of discrimination which have been employed to deny me the right to earn a living. Consequently I have raised my family by
the sweat of my brow. Viz... I loaded 400,000,000# of freight into trucks, mostly by hand.
oTHE3R CONCERNS WILL ARISE FROM TIME TO TIME.
I do expect to learn this machine pretty soon.
Thanks for your interest,
Any comments will be honored,
Sincerely
Strider "Arkansas" Benston
